Mitch Williams 2 months agoJust want to let Englsh people know that they carry some Engish foods like Birds custard and Ribena and lots of bisquits at half the cost of the British stores. This a very, very popular African market with a kitchen serving authentic African comfort food. The management and staff were extremely nice. Kind of a hidden gem. .
Susan Aigbogun 3 years agoI bought 5 lbs of goat meat from the Irving branch and I still regret it. The meat was slimy and smelled stale. I washed several times with salt and had to separate the best from the rest . I called to let the know and the lady that answered the phone yelled at me that I was lying that no one has complained. She wouldn’t let me talk. And ended the call before I could tell her I was bringing it back. I thought about the drive back and knowing that it would not yield any results and she could get violent,I counted my loss and know that I was not returning there. I have said this before but this time am done.
Google me a month agoI hate goin to this Nigerian african store. For so many reasons. Inconsistencies in their food. Bread is awful now.
Glory to God Almighty a year agoI had never thought a simple loaf of bread could embody so many facets of frustration and disappointment until I purchased one from the Southwest Farmers Market. The excitement of trying a fresh, handmade loaf turned to utter disgust as there was an uninvited guest-a fly-nestled inside the bread. How does something so blatant get past quality control? The fact that someone would just overlook such an overt hygiene issue is disgusting. It is an abomination just to think about the consumption of such a highly adulterated product. The incident made me lose my appetite and also caused the shattering of any confidence I had in the vendors at the Southwest Farmers Market. The kind of negligence involved in handling food products is completely unacceptable and speaks volumes of the low standards maintained by the market. My personal experience with the bread I bought from the Southwest Farmers Market had me not just furious but really saddened. Wherever freshness and high quality are expected, having a fly inside a loaf of bread is very disappointing. That is supposed to suggest where the very bad oversight in food preparation and handling was occurring. Lack of attention to detail and hygiene will not only violate the integrity of the product as such but also bring about grave health risks in store for the consumers. This goes without saying that vendors must take immediate remedial action by putting stringently offensive quality control measures into effect, with the result that such incidents do not recur. In the end, it was this contact with fly-infested bread from the Southwest Farmers Market that was my real nightmare. It starkly reminded me that in the food industry, strict quality checks and hygiene are of paramount importance. All in all, this has left me with a mix of anger and sadness, knowing full well such lapses in quality control demean the otherwise promising reputation of the market.
