I’ve had two very disappointing experiences with Hy-Vee’s customer service, and it’s left me extremely frustrated. I placed a catering order for a party, and the crab Rangoon came with no heating instructions. When I called for help—an hour before guests arrived—I was transferred between four different employees, none of whom knew what to do. The store later issued a $10 gift card for the inconvenience. Fast forward to using that gift card: I was double-charged for my order and charged an additional $10. What followed was a long, exhausting back-and-forth with the store manager and accounting. Rhonda Hayes, the accountant, repeatedly insisted that I had not been overcharged, despite the clear evidence. Five days later, she finally issued the refund, but sent a dismissive and unprofessional email in the process. The refund isn’t the issue—it’s the attitude, the lack of accountability, and the absence of basic respect for customers. Hy-Vee can and should do better. Treat your customers with grace.

I've been shopping here for 3 years. My first impression was negative. I remember I bought some tomatoes and oranges. I was careless and I chose the nicest looking tomatoes and oranges. The tomatoes were like $4.99/lb. I needed a lot of tomatoes and ended up spending more than $30 on them. The oranges, I don't recall the price but I ended up spending around $15 for a few oranges. That said, I give the store 5 stars because they are always well stocked, clean, organized, and they seem focused on offering premium selection of products. They make great use of space. They have a starbucks, chinese restaurant, pizzeria, sushi, a general restaurant, and probably even more stuff that I'm missing. They have a large hidden space where you can sit and drink your latte, eat your sushi, or pizza... and just relax. Last week the Chinese food was 5 stars. Their bakery is solid: great donuts, large selection of breads, muffins are great, cakes are delicious. Their meat department is always top notch. If you are on a tight budget this hyvee is not your best choice. If you value quality and a large selection of items then you will like this Hyvee. I know I say some negative stuff but overall this is a great store and I give it 5 stars.

Visited this Hy-Vee today on Christmas Eve and I would like to let the general manager of the store know that he had an amazing staff all around from the butchers to the people working in the aisles to the managers, helping others find things around the store, everybody had a smile wished happy holidays, and it was a sense of joy and happiness, whatever you do to bring the team together and keep the smiles on their faces. Keep it going… Amazing work!!

The pharmacy staff is so attentive and helpful in my Father’s needs. They know his name when we call for inquiries. It feels like an old fashioned pharmacy where people love their job!
