At this point with how the major chains are price gouging, Village Market is the same price as Safeway and cheaper than lucky. Much nicer options too.

SACHA I’ve been coming to Village Market for 30 years. It has always been a special place for me, and Sasha is a big part of why. Every time I see him, I’m met with care, kindness, professionalism, and a genuine smile. He consistently goes above and beyond, and it shows. Sacha — along with the entire team — continues to create an exceptional experience at Village Market. I don’t just come for the great food; I come because it feels like a welcoming community. Whoever is doing the hiring clearly understands what makes this place so unique and continues to protect that culture.

This quaint little market is in an unknown area of Oakland. They have an excellent and diverse selection of pastries, produce, beverages, deli, packaged goods and pretty much anything you could need. The prices are high, but the location is a bit obscure so it is kind of a funny little place. Parking is super easy, they have a lot of spaces right outside. They also have four tables to sit out should you choose to sit outside and enjoy something you purchased.

High-end boutique market with just about everything you need The good: -- Nice selection of meats, including cuts from Niman Ranch -- Decent beer and wine selection -- Well-stocked with fruits and vegetables, canned goods, spices, etc. -- Friendly staff, ready to help and answer questions The bad: -- Nothing to gripe about, but know that you're paying more for many items than you would at Safeway or Vons.

One of the best Markets around! I love the organic produce. Cheese selection is to die for! I don't drink beer but they have a great selection!
