So glad to see the store is still open and still carries the same name my parents gave it many years ago! The store was original started by my parents, Grover “Cleve” & Gloria Thomas in the early 1950s. They ran an incredible business for almost 40 years. They sold the store in the early 1990s when my father became ill and retired. Such great memories here of so many wonderful customers. my father passed away in 2001 and my mother passed away in 2023 here in Atlanta at age 93. She had an incredible life, particularly blessed 20 years traveling and seeing the world. They loved their customers and took a personal interest in everyone’s life and truly cared about them. Every customer was like an extended family member. So many happy years at this location! I posted some photos of Grover “Cleve” and Gloria Thomas below.

I went in for a small bag of ice. I grab a bag and wait by the register for a few minutes while the owner finishes up his phone call. He then walks over to me (same side and not by the register) and told me 3 dollars, I pull out a 20 and he jokingly goes, it’s $5, actually make it 20. I said, I can go somewhere else and he got angry and said, “good, get out and don’t come back!” Guy comes off a bit racist and rude. I won’t be going back.

Store is clean and very nice looking after the renovations. So glad they are back open. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Congratulations on your new look and wonderful store.

Huge selection, quick service, love that they keep bottled spring water in stock. Looks like they had a wide liquor selection too.
