Dave's Market & eatery Ohio City

My wife and I have been shopping at this Dave’s for over 2 decades. We’ve witnessed all of the changes(both good and bad). Today I went there to by some items from the deli. I ordered my items without incident. The server was very nice and polite so I didn’t foresee any problems. Then, the server handed my the price tags for my items and said, “Ok, just take these tags to the register and they’ll send someone back to pick up your food.” I completely understand the theft issues at Dave’s due to the demographic but to treat us all like potential thieves is completely disgraceful. I took my stickers to the register and spoke with one of the managers about my issue with this new policy. He was very polite and professional. I told him that I would happily pay for my items and that I had absolutely no problem with any of the employees. I then told him, “I can’t allow you to take my money, and treat me like a criminal so unfortunately this is my last time shopping here ever. My dignity, trustworthiness, and self worth hold far More value to me than your egg salad.” So, if you have no problems with this new policy please enjoy. But think for a second and ask yourself, “Does this policy apply to everyone or just to those who fit a certain demographic which is the same demographic that Dave’s profits the most from.”

This my girl Red , I said I want something fruity with Jameson she said no more.....this drink was tropical good and strong glad I wasn't driving....coz geeesh....Very professional great customer service, she's the only reason why I went. But the back had karaoke Sunday nights it was jumping laid back older.crpwd no drama type stuff love it

This store is different from the rest of their stores, it has a great look and a comfortable feel. I really enjoy shopping here and just roaming around the store, finding new and different things to buy. The customer service was spot on and very helpful. I'm not normally in this neighborhood but I heard good things about this store and had to check it out The thing that was a real pleasant surprise was Maha Grill... man you must try it out. Everything I got was above my expectations, and that's sometimes hard to do. I also enjoy the great selection in the bulk section near the produce

Ridiculous to spend time and resources surveilling your customers. Ditch the police cart and consider making self checkout a process that is somewhat bearable by lowering the suspicion of your automated machines if you want me to keep shopping here. No receipt checks either, I’m already paying well beyond what competitors charge for the convenience of shopping in my neighborhood, you are making this not worth it. To Dave’s management, chill out and recognize you’re running a grocery story, not a high security prison.

Dave's is a great inner-city neighborhood supermarket. They do a great job catering to a diverse clientele. Life on the near west and south side would take a big hit if Dave's wasn't there.
