I get it that running a grocery store is difficult, but come on, it’s 11:20am and all these items are out of stock? Now I need to go to another store. I wouldn’t see this at Harris Teeter or Publix. Sad that this store was recently remodeled and this is the situation. Get enough help to keep the shelves stocked!

WELL WELL WELL, Let me just say I had the privilege of being targeted or discriminated against at my local Food Lion today 04/26/2026. I am a loyal customer and have been shopping here for years . Upon leaving the store my husband and I had 2 carts and he was in front of me and his wheels locked on cart. A man approached him from the left of the door and asked for his receipt so my husband says she has it. The man approached me and asked to see the receipt and I asked why was there a problem he said no, so I said well why do you need my receipt as we just left out of lane #2? He says we know you paid its just standard procedure we still need to see your receipt. I showed my receipt then he proceeds to unlock my husband's cart and he admitted he locked my husbands cart but didn't say why. Now keep in mind he never at one time checked the groceries in cart against the receipt. I said you are wrong for locking his cart and since its a standard procedure I will stand outside of this door to see if you lock anyone else's cart and how about this... he DID NOT!!!!! I WAS HUMILIATED, UPSET, EMBARRASSED ETC.... as there were customers behind me. Each time I go to this store we spend no less than 200.00. This may sound petty to some but to me I felt discriminated against. I have NEVER EVER had this to happen to me at any grocery store EVER!!!!!!!!! SO when he saw our receipt and how much we spent, hopefully he felt stupid and small!! So why he stopped no one else was unknown to me as the man directly behind me had more groceries in his cart than I. I would truly like to know when is it a crime to have 2 shopping carts of groceries as we had 2 separate orders, one going home with us and the other order going to mother in law, but paid for all on one long receipt. The carts were not filled to the rim, 7 bags in my cart and about 15 bags in hubby's cart. This is what we normally do when we have 2 orders and have NEVER had an issue. I load one side of car from my cart and hubby loads his side with the other order. I'm OCD and it helps me to do separate orders this way as well as different color bags for each order to keep from mixing orders up. So tomorrow, being that today is Sunday I will be contacting corporate and a District Manager about my experience here. If we weren't pressed for time I would have returned every single item and got my money back and took my business elsewhere!! See receipt below but I crossed out card digits. I refuse to shop somewhere spending good money and be treated like a peasant!

A blue haired girl rang me up today and when I walked up she was having a conversation with another employee. I said good morning but she kept with her conversation without pausing to greet me or anything. She rang me up and handed me the receipt without ever uttering a word to me. The minimum expectation was a “hi” and “have a good day” but I guess she couldn’t even do that.

Online shopping experience became worse and worse. Asked for substitutes to be offered and none were for many items. Before I could even ask a question the chat was closed and shopping marked complete. No bananas in the entire store? Hard to believe. I called the store and spoke to Chayden who said there were bananas and one other item that I really needed. He assured me he'd add them to the order. But, when the order arrived --- no bananas and no tortellini. Have emailed Food Lion twice with no response. I've written to corporate by postal mail and no response either. While Food Lion is a bit more affordable, I'll go back to Harris Teeter. At least they put forth the effort to find all items and always offer substitutions. I will never drop another dime in any Food Lion ever again.

Great deals 2 for one specials can’t beat that!! Clean store friendly atmosphere and I love my MVP card it provides savings you just cant beat with today’s food prices.
