This review is about sustainability only. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Plastics are made from fossil fuels, they take hundreds of years to break down in our oceans, incinerators, and landfills, and when they do “break down,” they just become micro plastics that we consume and get sick from them. Over 95% of plastics we produce and consume do NOT get recycled in any form. I truly cannot believe that the majority of the produce you sell comes wrapped in plastic. I understand that this is beyond your singular store’s control, but I implore your company to interrogate its supply chain that necessitates that all this food that comes from the earth gets wrapped in trash that is poisoning us all. It is nauseating to witness. Surely you can be selecting vendors that sell produce as it comes—bare. The plastic waste crisis will only be ended by the consumer, the companies selling the food, and policies that mitigate the harmful impact we create together. I would love to see Giant be a responsible vendor of food, and try (at the very least with its produce!!!) to relieve us from this devastating reality. Thank you for considering.

It's a grocery store. It's well stocked. My problem is the self checkout, which you almost certainly will be using. If you have a full cart you have to scan and fill a bag as you'd expect. But when you move the bag to make room to fill the next bag it thinks your absconding with the groceries and locks up the scanning. Then the attendant has to unlock it. It's absurd. I had it lock up multiple times during a 200 dollar order. If you have 15 items or less, self checkout is great. But a big order? It's a study in frustration. My question for Giant is does stopping some small percentage of theft outweigh me not shopping there?

Regularly over crowded with enough people to check you out. To add insult to injury self checkout they restrict to 20 items. UNLESS it’s late at night and then they make you go through self checkout. Prices are not as competitive as high end grocery stores in the area. Poorly managed. No thanks

Do not come to this Giant, some items may be repackaged. I had purchased a box “Quest Bake Shop Muffins” and inside the box was an assortment of “Annies” grahm crackers, pop tarts, and other crackers. Im not sure who is responsible but this is most likely not the only product in the store in the wrong packaging.

Good morning to whom this my concern, I am writing to report an ongoing food safety concern at the deli counter in your store. GIANT 6330 YORK RD LOCATION On multiple visits, I have observed deli employees handling food without changing their gloves between customers or tasks. Gloves are often only changed when a customer specifically asks, and when I have requested this, the response has felt dismissive or uncomfortable. Proper glove changes are a basic food safety practice and should be followed consistently without customers having to ask. This behavior raises concerns about cross-contamination and overall hygiene. I am bringing this to your attention because I value your store and want to feel confident about the food being prepared and served. I respectfully ask that this issue be addressed through staff retraining or reinforcement of food safety protocols. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
