Walked over from Union Station to grab some train supplies. They got a nice selection of dang near anything you’d need on a train for a pleasant train ride. Beer, wine, liquor, snacks, sandwiches…. Fella running the register didn’t even balk at me for carrying my backpack in, which definitely doesn’t fly in a lot of places.

I have never in my life received 4 pounds of cream cheese with a side of bagel, but somehow this deli manages to do it every time. I’ve gone back 3 separate times hoping it was a fluke, and each time it’s the same thing: an entire bucket of cream cheese with barely any bagel. On top of that, the deli staff is consistently rude. No greeting, no thank you, not a single word. Customer service is basically nonexistent. The store itself is great and the girl working up front is always kind and welcoming, so this review is specifically about the deli. Unfortunately, the deli experience is a 0/10 for me.

I guess it's a pleasant place, but the gallon of whole milk cost $7.99 whereas at Mariano's $3.99. also Don Rodolfo Art of the Andes Malbec has a cap that was almost impossible to open. Even using a knife and trying to open it the correct way was unsuccessful. I finally got it open but cut my hand on the bottle. What a piece of crap of wine.

Sandwiches at the deli are great and surprisingly reasonably priced compared to how expensive the other products are. The woman that works at the front is usually rude. Unless you’re getting a sandwich, I’d recommend getting other snacks elsewhere.

We came to this supermarket later at night to find a Chicago beer bottle for a souvenir. The man who helped us was incredibly, incredibly kind and walked us through the whole beer selection to find one we liked. Thank you so much again sir - you created a wonderful memory for us. We will definitely pay it forward ⭐️
