Great idea, Safeway - Bags w/out handles. That must have been an executive decision as not everyone know handles on grocery bags are just an inconvenience. Any old vice president certainly knows what's best for shoppers. Now I cant wait to go there tomorrow and load up with three bags of grocery items. By the way - any idea when the Grocery Outlet is opening not far away from Safeway?

Wow, I just had a great experience at this store with Sunny at customer service! Did an online order and ran into an issue with a coupon not being applied. I met with Sunny at the service desk and he was awesome. He made the correct adjustments on my card and did so quickly and with a smile. I left the store somehow in a better mood than if the transaction just went through the first time.

It was my first time using a Safeway gift card and I was blessed to count with the help of a wonderful cashier called Cheri or Cherie (I couldn't read properly her name because I have vision problems sometimes) who helped me doing it. She was polite and speedy!

The Safeway grocery store located in the heart of the Marina District is a convenient and excellent choice for all your grocery needs. Whether you're a tourist or a local, this store is perfectly situated for anyone looking to grab some sustenance before a bike or walk to the Golden Gate Bridge. The location of the store is particularly useful for visitors as it is situated right next to Fort Mason. If you're enjoying a picnic and need to restock on snacks or drinks, a quick 30-second roll down the hill will get you back to the Safeway store where you can stock up with ease. One of the standout features of the Safeway grocery store is its extended hours. The store is open late every day, providing ultimate convenience for customers. The store's organic produce section is solid, with plenty of options to choose from, making it an excellent choice for health-conscious shoppers. If you're in a rush and need a quick meal, the Safeway deli is the perfect solution. The deli has a wide range of options, including cooked meals, sushi, and sandwiches, allowing customers to grab a meal on the go without sacrificing quality. Lastly, the staff at Safeway is incredibly friendly and helpful, making your shopping experience all the more enjoyable. One thing to note for tourists is to avoid parking in the store for longer than the designated times. Instead, head over to the Marina Green parking area, where you can park for free all day (dawn till dusk, closed overnight). Overall, the Safeway grocery store in the Marina district is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to stock up on groceries, with convenient hours, a solid organic produce section, and helpful staff.

I have been a daily customer at this Marina Safeway for over a year. Anything was ok until this illegal and traumatizing experience I had on March 3rd with the newly hired night-shift security team. While waiting to check out around 7pm, a female security guard with acrylic nails harassed me without any reason. She kept staring at me as always when I shop in the store since she started working here recently and I noticed that. When I finally looked at her at a distance and asked her “why” and she aggressively approached me while repeating “what’s your problem?! What’s your problem?! Why you keep looking at me?” I then told her”that’s exactly what you did and what I want to ask you. why do you and another two of your colleagues always keep extra eyes on me or even follow me to the aisle that I go and observe me from behind the end cap? (I swear to the universe I always pay for my items. I dress well. I’m clean. I never disturb other customers. I’m just a simple buy-and-go daily customer). She replied “I get paid for staring at you. pay and get out, or I’ll call sfpd.” I then asked her “why should a nice customer be kicked out of the store like this? Is that how you guys treat a loyal and respectful customer?” She then fabricated a lie “ Cuz you are screaming at other customers. (which I never did. An absolute fabrication) she then said “Leave the store right now, sfpd is on the way, you are trespassing.” Then She used her phone to take a photo of me and another security guy jumped in and asked me to leave just because he has to work with her. And the guy threatened me that they would hang my photo on the wall in their office and ban me from entering the store anymore. I told him “I don’t want to come to such a store anymore” I stood my ground and told them I would let the management know how they use their uniform to bully on customers. Then that female security said “I don’t care. I am not directly employed by Safeway” and she pointed at a cashier saying she is the manager, which is not. Then I checked out and stepped out the store. The situation escalated dangerously when she followed me outside the store. She placed her hands on the weapons on her uniform in a threatening gesture while I was just walking out of the store with my back facing her without saying anything, and she was walking right behind me while pulling out the stun gun and while she kept asking me to leave. Then I stopped and started recording with my phone for my safety. Then She initiated unwanted physical contact by raising her hand over my head and using her forearm to push me at the exit while asking me to not touch her, which is a clear attempt to fabricate a battery charge against me. She then kicked my shoes while continuing her aggressive move and words. When I was recording her, this female guard pulled out a stun gun and began waving it at me in a threatening manner while I was just calmly filming. Furthermore, she verbally insulted me by calling me 'trash'. This is not security; this is criminal harassment and armed intimidation by a rogue employee. I have photo and video evidence. And it is not just one person. It is a newly hired night-shift security team—including a man with a buzzed top mullet with long hair in the lower back of his head and a woman in a hijab—has been systematically harassing me with a pack mentality. They have followed me to aisles I went and that mullet male security even leaned in to eavesdrop on my conversations with the sandwich maker as if I were a threat while I was just ordering food. I swear to the universe that I pay for all my items. I have shopped here daily for a year and always pay for my items. This collective profiling and stalking is unacceptable and creates a hostile and unsafe environment. Under California law, security guards have no right to initiate physical battery on non-violent customers. I am formally reporting this to Safeway Corporate and the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).
