Reading Terminal Market is truly a food connoisseur’s playground. From sweet treats to fresh meats, seafood, and vibrant produce, every corner offers something worth indulging in it’s absolutely worth the time to explore this delightful spot. We started off with cookies from Famous 4th Street Cookies, and they were incredible. They practically melted in your mouth. Next, we waited in line for a cheesesteak at Uncle Gus’ Steaks. While I wouldn’t rank it as my all time favorite, it was definitely worth the wait meaty, flavorful, and satisfying. We also grabbed a stromboli and a slice of pizza from By George, another delicious spot. To top it all off, we enjoyed some fresh cold-pressed juices that were incredibly refreshing. There are so many vendors to choose from including those offering fresh meats, seafood, and produce—and I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying even more. Just be prepared you’ll definitely want to spend a little extra once you see all the amazing options!

# Reading Terminal Market One of my favorite things about Reading Terminal is that there’s genuinely something for everybody. Whether you’re visiting Philly for the first time or grew up around here, you can spend hours wandering, snacking, and finding little hidden favorites. ## Helpful Tips • Go hungry and share food if you can — portions are bigger than they look and you’ll get to try way more places. • If you want a calmer experience, Monday around 9:30am was surprisingly manageable crowd-wise. • Take your time walking through the market itself because some of the smaller spots end up being the best finds. ## Old City Coffee My favorite coffee spot in the market. Their cortado actually came in the proper small cup instead of being turned into a mini latte 😭 Smooth espresso, quick service, and a solid little reset in the middle of the market chaos. ## Dutch Eating Place Absolutely packed for a reason. They had a lot of Pennsylvania Dutch staples that are honestly getting harder to find outside this area, and it felt like one of the more classic Reading Terminal experiences. ## Uncle Gus’ My favorite cheesesteak in the market. The meat had great flavor, the bread held up, and it didn’t feel overly greasy or heavy. ## Hershel’s The hype is deserved. Their Reuben was LOADED, the meat was ridiculously tender, and one sandwich could honestly feed two people.

We’ve visited Reading Terminal Market many times, and every trip feels like a new discovery. There are so many different vendors here that you can truly find anything you’re in the mood for — from iconic Philly cheesesteaks to donuts, bakeries, fresh produce, seafood, Amish comfort food, and more. It’s not just a tourist spot — locals come here all the time for groceries and quick meals, which really adds to the lively and authentic atmosphere. The energy inside is always fun and bustling, especially during weekends. It’s a market where you can walk, eat, snack, shop, and repeat! Whether you’re visiting Philadelphia for the first time or the tenth, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend arriving a bit early if you want to avoid the crowds!

This is a foodie Shangri-la - I visited on my way out of town and my only regret was that I didn’t plan every meal here during my stay. I can’t wait to go back. Because i only had one meal to get (and only one stomach) i agonized over what to get. Obviously Philly Cheesesteak was a must, but there’s Italian pulled pork, Fillipino food, Cajun, Deli meats. And you can just go vegetable shopping or get coffee and some cookies. Just an incredible number of options.

Reading Terminal Market is one of the best food destinations I have visited in Philadelphia. The market is full of energy, amazing smells, and an incredible variety of food from all around the world. From classic Philly sandwiches and fresh bakery items to authentic international dishes, there is something for everyone. Everything felt fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The atmosphere is lively and unique, giving you a true local experience rather than a typical tourist attraction. Walking through the market and exploring all the different vendors was an experience on its own. The staff at many of the stands were also very friendly and welcoming. Whether you want breakfast, lunch, dessert, or just snacks to try, this place has it all. Definitely a must visit spot in Philadelphia and I would happily come back again.
