I was excited to try the new setup, but the baked goods were a huge letdown — especially the chocolate donuts. They were so dense and dry that they crumbled apart like cornbread, and the flavor had a strange artificial aftertaste that didn’t taste fresh at all. We also tried the muffins, which were just as dry and dense, with the same odd aftertaste. On top of that, they’ve stopped carrying several items that we used to specify there for, and even the egg section has been moved to an open middle bin that doesn’t seem to keep them as cold as before. The old Uptown had much better bakery items and selection.

Uptown Grocery on Covell is one of my favorite spots for specialty shopping. Their bakery is a standout—always fresh and beautifully presented. I even introduced it to some coworkers, and they ended up ordering for special events and were really happy with it. I also look forward to their Sushi Wednesdays, when they offer half-price sushi—a great deal! While prices can be a bit higher compared to other stores, the clean and well-organized layout, along with the quality of their products, makes it worth it. I always check their weekly ads for the best deals.

Uptown was a great store. Had that hometown feel and service. I went to Reasors today after a quick trip to Walmart. The price markup on items in Reasors is comical at best. The distance between these stores is a mile. We are not talking about cents, we are talking about dollars. The 3 items I bought down the street would of cost me nearly another $10. Price gouging to the extreme with no better experience or service. Feel free to explain this to me. I will absolutely never set foot in this place again. P.S. The bakery is also disgusting, artificial crap.

I stopped by here to pick up some flowers for my aunt and was really impressed with the selection. They had plenty of beautiful options and the prices were very reasonable. The woman working in the flower department was especially helpful and even found a box for the vase along with some nice wrapping paper to make it look presentable. From the little I saw, the store seemed like a great small grocery shop. I also noticed they have a bakery section. It’s conveniently located right off the highway, which makes it easy to stop by.

I am very disappointed with this store. It was delicious and fresh when it was uptown now the Food found in the deli looks old. I just picked up a small container of cheese and it says it was prepared on April 4. They really need to step up the scale and have food that is fresh not old food out to buy. I would not buy anything in the deli like the quesadillas, salmon, chicken, it all looks old. very disappointing. I used to shop at this location all the time for delicious fresh food in the deli.
