Just want to give a shout out to Tansy in the Starbucks/deli section - she saw me wandering aimlessly through the grab-n-go section in hopes of finding a sandwich... they'd sold out... and after making a couple suggestions that she could read didn't quite land... she offered to "look in the back." She found several selections that she brought out for me. It was a lovely example of superior - and kind - customer service. I was pleased with what I got - even more so that I had Tansy's smiling help. Thank you!

I go here. Buy a bunch of fruit and veg. Nectarines are mislabeled as plums. I pick up 3 of them. 2 of them I discover within the day have mold and there weren't many to choose from. I picked the best looking they had. Cuties in the bag I picked up have gone fully green within 2 days. Grapes at the bottom have fully rotted and browned IN MY FRIDGE within 2 days. This is one of two grocery stores within radius of my house as a disabled person who can't drive. I feel like I shouldn't have to spend an hour shifting through my produce at a store that pushes such a naturalistic image to find food that isn't spoiled or about to spoil. Also neither the cucumber or zucchini were labeled and just the Entire produce section is a mess. Which is the point of a grocery store.

So me and My Wife went inside there to shop for the first and second time and our experience with the cashier up in the department where they sell liquor was a very bad experience. My daughter was having a party. She asked us to pick up some items for her from the liquor store and so as we were about to pay for our items, the lady banged up all the steps and My Wife grabbed a bag while I pulled out our Credit Card and the lady abruptly snatched the bag back from My Wife told her you have to pay first and we explain to her that that’s what we were doing. I was in certain my Credit Card. Her manager came out and said don’t worry about it I’ll take care of this. He let My Wife keep the bag. I went ahead and paid and told her to put a sticker on the back the next time we came in, we were asking a question and the lady was very rude when we asked the question and she said WHAT So we repeated ourselves asking her where the price tag was and she said if we would look, we would find it in a certain area so what we observe was that there was a tall Caucasian man that came in very nice dress and you could tell he was a professional personand when he was having the same issue, she came from behind the counter and said let me help you out, and she went through everything she could do to make sure that he found the right price and that he was getting the bargain that he was looking for And he was served and thanked with a smile once we were still trying to find our price. The lady wouldn’t come over and help us. We had to stop the manager and he came and helped us and we told him that you know the lady wasn’t helping us like she helped the other guy. He said I’m so sorry for that and I will take care of you if it wasn’t for the manager I probably wouldn’t go back inside there to shop at this place cause people of color seem not to have a great outcome when they are dealing with certain people that work in the store.

I haven’t been to a store that has a worse checkout process. Self checkout does not consolidate one line, so you have to guess which line to stand in. You’re immediately standing in people’s way when you’re in line. The store is small but the layout is good, which would be fine if they didn’t have so many random aisle toppers and racks for single products that take up space. Later in the evening, to enter the store you have to use the back entrance and then walk backwards through the self checkout area to enter the store. There is no reason the giant eagle advantage card needs to be required to check out. It’s not a membership store like Costco. There’s practically no difference between a GE and a Kroger. The card just adds one more thing that could go wrong or waste time. And even paying, you have to click through every option before it lets you use your card. Is like the machine doesn’t want your money, and keeps trying to stop you from buying stuff. I have nothing against the people who work in this store. God bless the poor self checkout person who constantly has to deal with 3 errors at a time just to salvage their awful system.

Not allowed to use the self checkouts without a loyalty card and the regular line was taking over 10 minutes, it wasn’t their fault but I totally blame the company for an extremely anti consumer policy that benefits nobody
