This is why I have trust issues. I kept hearing this place was supposed to be one of the best po' boy spots in America. Food shows, great reviews, people hyping it up everywhere. So I spent $20 on a cab ride there and another $20 back to my hotel. And let me tell you... this was one of the worst things I've eaten in a long time. It looked amazing. It smelled amazing. I was already planning on getting back to my hotel room and absolutely destroying this sandwich. Instead, I took two or three bites just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. The best way I can describe it is this: it tasted like salt and what I imagine a butt would taste like. Now, I've never actually tasted a butt before. But based on the smell, if I had to guess what one tastes like, I'm pretty sure this would be it. I ended up throwing the whole thing in the trash. Trust me, this review is coming from a fat person who loves food. I don't let food go to waste. I'll eat leftovers for three days. I'll finish a mediocre meal just because I paid for it. But this? This was not it. Now I'm hungry, out $40 in cab fare, and headed down to my hotel's restaurant to find something edible. Believe the hype if you want. I'm just telling you what happened. 1 star.

Verti Marte is definitely a fun little stop in the Quarter. We tried the muffuletta - it was good, solid flavor, but not the best we’ve had in the city. The po’boy, though, had really nice seasoning and hit the spot. Just a heads‑up, the space inside is tiny and gets tight fast, so be ready to squeeze in and out. Overall, tasty food and worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Talk about a hole in the wall! I ended up here after my fyp on tik tok kept showing me videos about a delicious New Orleans secret sandwich called "All that Jazz". And all that jazz it was. Very very very good 👍. Again, this is a one of a kind, hole in the wall kind of place.. there were constant characters coming in and out (like a literal cartoon show) and I loved every minute of it while waiting for my sandwich. Definitely check it out if you are in New Orleans. Just a few blocks off bourbon street.

I’m glad we made it here, Verti Marte is tiny but our food was delicious. We ordered a half pint of gumbo ($5.70) and the muffuletta ($15.50) to go and took it back to our room to eat. We shared both, plenty of food for two for dinner. The gumbo was especially tasty. With taxes and credit card surcharge it cost us $24.65. We will definitely go back when we are in NOLA again, I look forward to trying other items.

Arguably the best sandwich in the world. New Orleans at least, which is both a bold and accurate statement. What an incredible way to improve any day/night in the quarter. There's not a bad sandwich here. It's open 24/7 and includes a grocery for all your provisions. All these things plus being the best sandwiches in the best eating city in America just makes this an absolute must. This trip I got the Royal feast. I'm not a big monarchy guy but this is a Royal I can get with. I'd marry into this royal family tbf. It's basically a ham and turkey with half a cow worth of brisket and Wow Sauce. The flavors meld together so well and even though you're eating three very different meats it works like magic. Run, don't walk, to Verti Marte. It will never let you down. Recommend infinity.
