We’re from Kentucky and love our bourbon. This place had Blanton’s and the large bottles of Maker’s and all for very reasonable prices, Kentucky or otherwise! And the staff went out of their way to find things for us and were so nice.

In the French Quarter. Very busy area. No parking in front of this liquor store. This store offers a check cashing window and an ATM and LOTS of liquor. Update: I was return to Unique, noticed lots of trash/dumpster in front of the building. Also fyi, unfortunately there are homeless people that gathered in the evening near Unique’s. 😞 sad.

Mainly the 2 stars are for the cool location by Royal and Canal. Otherwise, it's a very uncomfortable place to go. Beggars and drug dealers hang out by the entrance all the time. The staff is understandably burned out, and therefore very rude and unpleasant. Lines for the cashier are a mess and overcrowded, leading to tiffs and yelling matches between customers not knowing who is in front of who. l recommend you know exactly what you want ahead of time, get in, and get out quickly.

I love this place, it’s real and it’s real cheap - $1 for a can of coke here or $5 across the road at the Wyndham Hotel - take your pick. The hotel staff told me not to go to this store because there were “homeless people”. Yep, but we are in New Orleans, and it sure doesn’t do any harm for tourists to be here - just stay alert, be respectful and hang onto your stuff.
