Updated loook at these check out lines on a random Monday!! Hire a new manager! Ridiculous lines again!!! 6/22/2026 Best value for groceries in Sacramento. I don'tknow how people can afford to shop at Safeway or Raleys. Winco is easily 20% less expensive. Good produce, meat is all pre-packaged so I usually avoid it. Maybe not the best grocery store, but definitelythe best value for groceries.

I love winco. It's always open , it's always clean , well stocked , never smells bad . The produce is usually ripe and there's plenty to pick through. The staff is professional and alert . The parking lot is well cared for also . Well lit , clean and safe . Winco brand products are the lowest of cost and the highest of quality. Everything they sell is far less than at any other store . You'll get far fewer bags for the cost , prove it to yourself.

Lately, I’ve been shopping more at WinCo (Watt Ave) than Walmart because the total bill is usually lower. But the shopping carts are stressful to use. Most of them have faulty wheels, many have bent frames, and a lot of them are dirty or have trash left in them. WinCo usually has wipes available, but when they run out, they aren’t replaced right away. Today there were none available, and the hand sanitizer dispenser was also empty. So I wasn’t able to clean the cart handle, and once I was already inside the store, my cart started squeaking and the front wheels began making loud noises (see video). It honestly made me want to just shop for the basics and get out of there as quickly as possible. I understand WinCo follows a low-cost strategy, but they’re not so cheap that they can’t properly maintain their carts.

Best shopping in sacramento! I can fill an entire shopping cart off only $134 in food stamps. They take food stamps, cash, and debit cards. They are employee owned and keep costs down by not accepting credit cards. Bears the prices of Walmart and big box stores hands down. You can easily get twice the groceries for the same amount of money. If you have a large family, this is the most budget friendly shopping in all of Sacramento, and not only are their prices cheaper then Walmart, but their family size items (burritos, corn dogs, etc) are often bigger for less. Highly reccomend. Once you start grocery shopping at Winco, you wont shop anywhere else for food and household items like paper towels, dish soap, toilet paper, etc.

I recently had both an ankle and knee injury, and am in a full leg brace, but needed groceries so went to my favorite store, thinking that there was going to be a wheelchair appropriate cart for me in the store. When I asked the passing “manager” (Young blond guy with glasses, maybe in his 30s) how to start the cart he proceeded to tell me that I needed a drivers license to drive the wheelchair cart because “it has a lot of torque and there’s been thefts” and if I didn’t have one, I would have to hobble around the store without it, then he walked away. Not everybody has a drivers license and how inconvenient is it when you’re injured to have to supply one just to get your groceries? I tried to get the attention of multiple passing employees, and nobody even looked in my direction to help me figure it out. I ended up leaving without any groceries because of course it was too painful to maneuver the huge store with just a cart to lean on. never been so absolutely disappointed and disgusted in a store that I used to shop at almost every day who now apparently refuses to take care of their handicapped clients.
