Definitely a great high end market with great cooked foods, salads, and bakery. Fresh vegetables, meats and seafoods. Plenty of choices of high end or Gelson branch name. Big parking lot and with outdoor and balcony overlook the harbor view. Store is well keep and well organized with friendly staff. Bright and homey feeling upon walking. Fresh flower, great smell of good baked just make you want to buy more stuffs then you support to. As for the prices, well they are on the high end so if you’re on budget, look at the prices first. Great place, great quality, great staff and plenty of great choices to shop. Plus they do have a bar to stop by before or after you shop for a break…why not right!

Love this store!!! I just found out the the Irvine store will not be renewing their lease with the Irvine group/company. I'm sure the lease must have significantly risen. I hate that so much and so does the people living in that area. I will miss them when I go back to visit Orange County. Bad enough that I live over 2 and a half hours North.

I moved to Long Beach from Downey and was looking for a supermarket, Gelson's is great! Loved my experience there. Bought chicken, sauces, pasta, milk and a brownie that I loved, and tamales too. Thank u for such a great run store. Robert cashier was super nice polite. He let me know one of my tamales was free BOGO deal. 🙂 I took the bus there LB bus 121 easy to get there.

The pizza was burnt and dried up. So I took it to customer service, spoke to two managers. The first one said she would get another cashier so I wouldn’t have to wait in line for a refund but she disappeared. Before she disappeared she looked at pizza and said oh yeah, that is burnt and dry, she offered me another pizza In combination with a refund but i honestly didn’t want it, she then wrote out a credit slip. The second cashier came and 5 customers rushed the line before I could get there. The manager should have told that cashier to get me first. I went back to customer service desk and was told by another manager that I’d just have to wait in line again for a refund. I said no thanks, keep it, I’m not waiting in line again and she let me walk out. There was also mold on strawberries in the bread isle, like lots of mold, must have been there a long time. The spaghetti was dry and crunchy. I will say the cashiers and baggers are super sweet and nice. Pizza at Whole Foods across the street is so much better but I was going to gelsons because I thought I like the vibe better in there. Whole Foods from now on for fresh pizza.

Gelson’s is a beautiful market to shop, dine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and have a nice spot to eat up stairs in the mezzanine area with tables and chairs arranged to accommodate overlooking the marina. It is a high priced market with a lot of quality food and drinks. There’s a bakery, deli, wine bar, and a serve yourself section arranged by fresh produce, fruit, salad, poke, made to pickup breakfast, lunch and dinner selection; also buy by the pound deli selection, chicken dinners, sushi, pizza and other delicious food and treats. There’s also a wide variety of cheese, meats, vegetables, fruit, drinks and hard to find ingredients, food, and a nice selection in the back of wine and liquor. Their staff are really friendly and welcoming. The store is so clean and well organized. The produce area is so beautifully arranged and the flower department has so many wonderful items to look at and buy.
